The term Euro lock pick can be a little misleading but it's one that most of the lock picking community has latched on to. Some European lock manufactures do use a narrower key way. This narrower key way can be very tight work for a standard width pick and a thinner euro pick will give you more maneuverability.
Euro picks are not just for Euro locks
Some key ways no matter where they are made can be very paracentric and a bit of flex helps in positioning your pick. Thinner Euro picks tend to flex a bit more than thicker Standard lock picks. For a wide variety of Euro locks, you are fine with .025 but it is helpful to have a thinner selection. Even though they are called Euro lock picks they can also be very helpful with North American locks.
Should I get a Euro Lock Pick Set
If your goal is to go after some of these narrow keyways you don't have much of a choice, you need the room to properly position your pick. But you need to work with a light touch, these thinner picks are not for the heavy handed and should be used precisely. With a light touch and working knowledge of the lock you can go as thin as our sliver picks in a .012. You can select from our Euro lock pick sets or you can visit our single lock pick section and choose you own from a variety of different widths

Our Euro style lock picks are made of the same steel as all our other picks but they have been further cold rolled to get to a thinner width. It's in the thinner form that you can actually see the memory of the steel work as they flex and rebond to their original shape.
